The Nawabza himself has a fish of 107lb to his name. Andy Bright has caught 104lb and 86lb on the same morning!

There is still a part of the stretch that has been totally unfished and is a completely unknown quantity. On a coracle ride down here last year it just oozed potential.

There is normally at least one local guide for every two visitors. Suhban, the head guide (and some say river god!) is in charge, and even the most experienced of anglers welcome his help and opinion. Two main sections are fished every day. The morning lasts from first light until midday and then again from 4 o'clock until nightfall. The afternoons are just too hot to be out in, a strange sensation to those used to the British winter.

Jeeps are available to take you to the upper and lower sections, and coracles are on hand to cross the river and help with the landing of fish.

Bait is provided. Ragi paste, freshwater crabs and livebaits are the main ones used. It is always worth carrying a plug or spinners if you can.

There is always a pre-trip get together to look at fishing in depth and to get a feel for it.
